Places for an 18 year old with no prior working experience to apply to work for?

I've got a high school diploma, am currently enrolled in college, and I'm looking for a job so I can pay for a car. I've applied to Walmart, Publix, Winn-Dixie, and Sedanos but I haven't gotten any replies/don't have any connections in any of those stores, although my dad knows someone that might be able to hook me up with a job at Wendy's..Hopefully that materializes, but anyways, since I don't have a ride yet(my dad wont get a downpayment on a car till I get a job) my mom's going to be taking me to work so she says the place I'm commuting to has to be close (my zip code's 33185) or else she's not going to take me... I also searched for jobs at my university but most of the career opportunities there required you to have work-study (which I'm not eligible to receive since they'll take away my loan if I do), and the jobs that I could get there are heavily involved with computer/tech istance, but unfortunately I'm no tech wizard by any means. Any suggestions? I don't suppose anyone can "hook me up" with a job or at least point me in the right direction? All respectful answers appreciated. Thank you in advance!
