Is it safe to plug in speakers directly into wall outlet?

So i have Logitech X-220 speakers. It comes with one subwoofer and 2 speakers, left/right obviously. So these speakers started making crackling sounds each time i turn them on (nothing to worry about). I think i blasted them too loud once. So i got new speakers. Now i want to plug in my old ones (logitech X-220) directly into a wall outlet behind my bed and put the speakers on top of my bed rest so i can listen when i sleep. Is it safe to plug the subwoofer directly into the wall outlet? And if it is not safe, what are the hazards/dangers in doing so? I have a surge protector for my computer, but thats on another outlet. So the outlet that i want to plug my speakers into is free. I am just telling you guys this because i dont know if it matters. Im not a technologically advanced person. Thanks
